Popular Detroit Fundraising Event Returns

DETROIT, February 5, 2024 – “The Original Detroit Block Party”, one of Detroit’s most popular summer fundraising events, returns on Saturday, June 29, 2019, from 1 p.m. until 1 a.m. at The Brooklyn Entertainment Complex in Detroit’s Corktown area. This year celebrates the 24th anniversary since its inception. This is a unique entertainment and fundraising experience, supports various non-profit organizations in the area Detroit area.

“The Original Detroit Block Party” will feature outdoor and indoor stages with local, national, and international DJs, live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, artisans, and a cigar area.

The event attracts a diverse clientele, including music enthusiast, professionals, entrepreneurs, artists, students, and community leaders from across the state.

Drawing over 1,200 attendees in subsequent years, participants come together under the umbrella of an appreciation of great music, and support of the youth of our community. Since 2018, the Miracles Foundation along with their partners, have revamped the event and raised funds for local community-based organizations and programs to benefit children in the Greater Detroit area. In addition to this popular fundraising event, The Miracles Foundation sponsors music and art scholarships, and other youth development activities throughout the year. This year, the event is adding a health fair which will include guided exercise classes, cooking demonstrations and a on-site mobile clinic for health screening.

The 2024 year’s charity partners for this year are:

• The Drone Apprentice program (Providing education, training, and drone certification for young adults)

• Belle of the Ball (Prom dress giveaway program)

• The Torch Foundation Inc., Twirl for Mo” educational scholarship in memory of Monique Parnell Phifer

THE MIRACLES FOUNDATION was established in 2019 to share the love of music, inspirit the quest for education, skill trades & education, and encourage mental and physical wellness in young adults. Our three pillars and the foundation of our organization are center around education, wellness, and arts. Our passion is inspired by Motown recording artists, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members, and the founding members of The Miracles: (Pete Moore, Claudette Robinson, Smokey Robinson, Bobbie Rodgers & Ronnie White) The legacy of The Miracles and their accomplishments will live on though the children we serve.
